Kennelly, Villar & Savage

In Syracuse, the Chiefs defeated Lehigh Valley, 3-2.  Mike Spidale (.306) had a double in 4 at bats, and Steve Susdorf (.352) had a pinch hit single in the 9th inning.

In Reading, Tim Kennelly had 3 hits, and Jiwan James had 2, including his 5th home run of the year, as the Reading Phillies won a 7-2 game from the Senators.  David Buchanan (3-5) was the starter and the winner, going 5 innings, and giving up 2 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks.  Lisalberto Bonilla went 3 perfect frames, striking out 3, and Colby Shreve tossed a scoreless 9th for the R-Phils.

In Corpus Christi, Jonathan Villar (.269) had 3 hits and a walk, knocked in a run , scored 2 and stole 4 bases (that's 28 so far) as the Hooks rallied for 2 in the 9th and a 6-5 win over Midland.  Villar's 3rd hit started the winning rally.  Jonathan Singleton (.295) had a hit, and 2 walks, and drove in his 40th run for the Hooks.  Jarred Cosart started the game for the Hooks, went 6 innings, and gave up 5 runs on 7 hits
and 3 walks, striking out 6 for no decision.

Clearwater dropped a 7-1 game at Dunedin, and Lakewood was pounded, 13-1 by Delmarva.


In Colorado Springs, Michael Taylor (.339) had a double and his 4th home run, and drove in 2 runs to help Sacramento to a 10-3 win over the SkySox............In Iowa City, the Cubs and the Sounds split a doubleheader.  In the first game, Jason Jaramillo (.286) was 1 for 2 for Nashville,  but the Cubs won the game 1-0.............In Albuquerque, Will Savage won his 8th game of the season with 6 solid innings against Memphis.  Savage (8-3, 4.57) allowed just 1 run on 8 hits, and 4 walks for the 2-1 victory............In Fresno, the Las Vegas 51s rallied for 4 runs in the 5th inning , enough for a 4-2 win over the Grizzlies.  Anthony Gose had a walk and scored a run, and Travis d'Arnaud had an RBI hit during the rally.  Kevin Howard, back from AA, had 2 hits and a walk for the 51s.........In Mobile, the Bay Bears swept a doubleheader from Huntsville, 7-3, and 7-6.  Darren Byrd allowed a run on a hit, retiring 1 hitter in game 1, and Jesus Sanchez allowed a hit and a walk, but struck out the side in his inning in game 2.
