In Cincinnati Thursday, the Reds topped the Indians, 12-5. Lou Marson was 3 for 4 for the Tribe and has his average up to .246. That may not sound like much , but Lou was struggling for playing time, and therefore at bats, and has just found his groove since getting to play for a week for Carlos Santana. After having a 6-game hitting streak, Lou only played 1 game in the last 7 days ( 0 for 2, with a walk) before making his statement for more time yesterday. Go, Lou!! Alfredo Simon (2.19) pitched 2 innings for the Reds, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, striking out 3.
In St. Paul, Carlos Ruiz (.361) was 1 for 3 with an RBI for the Phillies in their 6-1 win over the Twins in the rubber game of the series......In St. Louis, Gavin Floyd's struggle goes on. Gavin (4-7) went 4.2 innings against the Cardinals, and was hit for 5 runs on 8 hits and 4 walks as the Card beat the White Sox, 5-3.
