In Philadelphia, Jim Thome hit a walk off home run in the bottom of the 9th inning to give the Phillies a 7-6 win over the Rays. It was the 13th walk off home run of his career, a major league record. Carlos Ruiz (.351) was 2 for 3, and was hit by a pitch, and drove in a run for the Phillies. Kyle Kendrick started for the Phillies and only made it through 4 innings, allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, on 6 hits and 3 walks, striking out 6, and Antonio Bastardo threw 1.1 innings in relief, allowing a run on 4 hits, with 2 Ks.

Once again Josh Outman could not stay in the game long enough to pick up the win, going just 4.2 innings, and allowing 5 runs on 8 hits and 1 walk. Outman threw 92 pitches, as the Rox tried to keep him in the game through the 5th inning so he could qualify for the win......In Phoenix, Adrian Cardenas got a rare start for the Cubs, and was 2 for 3 with a run scored, but the Diamondbacks won, 10-5. Mike Zagurski threw a 1-2-3 inning for Arizona.
Finally, the Toronto Blue Jays have moved Kyle Drabek from the 15-day DL to the 60-day list, and that is not good news for Kyle.
