In Savannah, the Sand Gnats beat the BlueClaws, 6-1, wrapping up a road trip that saw just 1 win in a week.  Bob Stumpo and Kyrell Hudson had 2 hits each for Lakewood.  The Claws come limping home with a 10-20 mark.


In Bradenton, the Marauders beat Clearwater, 5-2.  Cody Asche, Anthony Hewitt and Edgar Duran all had 2 hits for the Threshers. Hewitt is 11 for 16 over the last 4 games for Clearwater.  Tyler Knigge tossed 2 shut out innings in relief, lowering his season ERA to a sparkling 1.02!

In Reading, the R-Phils dropped a 5-3 decision to Trenton, wasting a fine effort from Julio Rodriguez.  "J-Rod" threw 5 shut out frames, allowing just 4 hits and 4 walks, striking out 5, and leaving the game with a 2-0 lead. Darin Ruf (.373) had a double and his 4th home run of the year for the Phillies.

In Indianapolis, the Indians defeated the IronPigs, 7-2.  Derrick Mitchell (.242) had a single and a double and drove in a run for Lehigh Valley.  Austin Hyatt (2-3, 4.10) was the starter, going 5.1 innings and allowing 6 runs on 9 hits and 3 walks, absorbing the loss.  Tyson Brummett threw a scoreless inning of relief for the Pigs.

In Corpus Christi, Jonathan Singleton hit his 4th home run of the year to help power the Hooks to a 17-3 pounding of San Antonio.  Singleton (.310) also walked 3 time, and scored 4 runs on the night.  Jonathan Villar had a hit, and 3 RBI to add the the Hooks' attack, and Josh Zeid threw a scoreless inning of relief.

In Tacoma, Will Savage won his 6th game of the year for Albuquerque in the Isotopes' 4-2 win over the Rainiers.  Will went 6.2 innings, allowing just 2 runs on 8 hits, NO walks, striking out 2 to improve to 6-0, 3.22 for the season...........In Oklahoma City, Jarred Cosart made his first AAA start for the Red Hawks, and allowed 4 runs on 10 hits and 2 walks over 8 innings in a 4-1 loss to Las Vegas.  Anthony Gose (.244) extended his hitting streak to 9 games (13 for 39) with a single and a triple, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI, and his 12th steal of the year, and Travis d'Arnaud also had a hit with an RBI for Vegas. Andrew Carpenter started for the 51s, and lasted 3.2 innings, allowing just 1 run on 3 hits, with 2 Ks...............In Pawtucket, Matt Rizzotti (.238) was 1 for 5 for Rochester, in the Red Wings' 3-1 win over the Sox.....In Memphis, RJ Swindel allowed an UNearned run in the 13th inning and was charged with the loss as the Reno Aces edged the Redbirds, 9-8. Randy Ruiz was 1 for 5 for the Aces.........In Jackson, Darren Byrd threw 3 shut out innings (1 hit, 4 Ks) to notch his 3rd hold of the year for Huntsville, as the Stars defeated the Generals, 2-1.
