In Charlotte, the Knights edged the IronPigs, 3-2. Domonic Brown (.241), Cody Overbeck (.269) and Kyle Hudson had 2 hits each for Lehigh Valley. Tyler Cloyd was the starter and went 5.2 innings, allowing just 2 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks, and receiving no decision. Greg Golson was 0 for 4 for the Knights.
In Harrisburg, the Senators bested the R-Phils, 5-4. Sebastian Valle had 2 hits, including his 4th home run of the year for Reading. Drew Naylor was the starter and took the loss, going 5 innings and giving up 4 runs on 8 hits, NO walks. Mike Cisco (1.40 ERA) threw 3 innings of relief, yielding 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 7 of the 9 outs!
In Daytona, Drew Hillman homered for the Threshers lone run in their 3-1 loss to the Cubs. Hillman is hitting .345 since his promotion from Lakewood.
In Corpus Christi, Jonathan Villar (.265) had a walk off home run, one of his 2 hits on the night, to give the Hooks a 6-5 win over Springfield. Jonathan Singleton (.325) also homered, his 9th, and now has 35 RBI on the year. Josh Zeid threw 2 scoreless innings of relief for the Hooks.
In Salt Lake City, Travis d'Arnaud (.310) had a single, a double, 2 RBI and scored 2 runs, and Anthony Gose (.285) had 2 singles, a walk, stole his 18th base and scored 2 runs as the 51s shut out the Bees, 9-0........In Portland, the Sea Dogs swept a doubleheader from New Britain, 4-3 and 4-3. Matt Rizzoti (.250) was 3 for 6 with a double and a walk on the day for the Rock Cats...........In Erie, Zack Segovia won his 5th game for the Sea Wolves in Erie's 7-3 win over Akron. Zack (5-4, 5.20) went 6.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks to post the victory...........In Bakersfield, Travis "Moose" Mattair had 2 hits and drove in a run for the Blaze in their 8-2 loss to San Jose.
