Cole pitches Phillies to win

Cole Hamels continued to pitch well with 7 strong innings against San Diego on Sunday.  Cole gave up just 1 run on 5 hits and 3 walks to improve to 5-1, 2.28 on the year.  Freddy Galvis had 2 walks, and Carlos Ruiz had a pinch hit single in the 3-2 win over the Padres. Antonio Bastardo (1.74) retired the only hitter he faced, even though it required 17 pitches to do so.

The win was #17 for HomeSiders in the majors this season.

In Milwaukee, the Cubs battered the Brewers, 8-2.  Adrian Cardenas struck out in his only at bat, and is 1 for 10 so far since his call-up.......In St. Louis, Michael Bourn (.336) was 2 for 5 with an RBI for the Braves in their 7-4 win over the Cardinals.........In Phoenix, the Giants took a 7-3 decision from Arizona.  Mike Zagurski threw a scoreless inning (1 hit, 1 K) for the Diamondbacks.
