Cole as cool as ever

I am still having home computer issues, so I am on a public computer this morning, and have limited time, so here it is as fast as I can-

The Phillies began interleague play with a 6-4 win over the Red Sox behind Cole Hamels.  Cole improved to 6-1, 2.48 on the year with a 7 inning performance in which he allowed just 3 runs on 6 hits and 1 walk, striking out 9.  Smoking hot Carlos Ruiz (.371)  had 2 more hits and 2 more RBI for the Phils, who have won 6 straight.   Freddy Galvis hit his second homerun of his career, and Antonio Bastardo retired David Ortiz in the 8th when called upon.

Hamels win was #21 for former Claws in the majors this year.

The Phillies have announced the promotion of Bryan Morgado from Lakewood to Clearwater, and the assignment of Austin Brough to Lakewood in exchange.  Morgado's promotion comes on the heels of 11 consecutive scoreless innings during his last few weeks with the Claws.

I did fail to mention Edgar Duran's walkoff home run for the Threshers the other night, so I want to give him some props. Edgar is hitting .271 for the Threshers so far!

In Reading Friday night, Matt Rizzotti returned to Baseballtown and had 3 hits for New Britain, including a home run to help the Rock Cats defeat the R-Phils, 5-2........In Vegas, Travis d'Arnaud (.293) had 3 hits, including 2 home runs, and Anthony Gose had a double and a triple and scored 2 runs, but the 51s fell to Memphis, 9-6..............In Chattanooga, Darren Byrd and Jesus Sanchez tossed 2 scoreless innings apiece, with Sanchez (0.67 ERA) recording his 3rd win when the Huntsville Stars scored a run in 11th inning for a 4-3 win over the Lookouts......
