Oviedo impressive in debut

In Allentown, Dave Bush pitched a complete game shut out and the IronPigs won a game in which they recorded just 5 hits, a 2-0 win over Louisville. Steve Susdorf, Derrick Mitchell and Tim Kennelly had a hit each for Lehigh Valley.

A fantastic debut for Ramon Oviedo in Lakewood, who pitched 6 strong innings to power the BlueClaws to a 3-1 win over Delmarva. Ramon allowed just 1 run on 5 hits and 4 walks, and finished strong, getting his final 2 outs in the 6th with the tying runs on base!  Mario Hollands and Luis Paulino finished it off for Lakewood.  Harold Martinez (.272) had the only multi hit game for the BlueClaws.

In Erie, Reading rallied from down 7-0 to tie the game, only to lose it 8-7 in the bottom of the 9th.  Trevor May had a rough strat, lasting only 2 innings, allowing 7 runs on 8 hits and a walk. Mike Cisco restored order with 4 shut out frames which allowed the R-Phils to get back in it.  Sebastian Valle had 2 hits and an RBI for Reading........In Fort Myers, Jesse Biddle threw 7 strong innings for Clearwater, allowing just 1 run on 6 hits and 1 walk, in the Threshers' 2-1 loss to the Miracle.  Colby Shreve gave up the game winning run in the 8th, and Drew Hillman had 3 hits and a walk for Clearwater.


In Las Vegas, Anthony Gose (.264) had a single, a double, a walk, scored a run and drove in another to help the 51s to a 10-3 win over Nashville.  Travis d'Arnaud (.293) had a hit and scored twice for the 51s...........In Durham, Greg Golson (.290) had a triple and scored a run for Charlotte, as the Knights beat the Bulls, 5-2.......In Reno, the Aces beat New Orleans, 9-5.  Randy Ruiz (.338) had a double, a walk, and scored 2 runs for Reno....In Round Rock, the Express defeated Sacramento, 11-5.  Michael Taylor (.344) had 2 singles, a walk, and an  RBI for the River Cats...........In Huntsville, the Stars defeated Birmingham, 6-3.  Jason Jaramillo had a double, an RBI and scored a run, and Darren Byrd picked up his 2nd save with a 1-2-3 9th, striking out 2.
