The Oakland A's have called up Michael Taylor from AAA-Sacramento, and Mike made his season debut for Oakland with an 0 for 3 in Tampa. Mike was hitting .347 for the River Cats, good for 14th overall in the Pacific Coast League.
In Washington, the Phillies let a 3-1 lead get away, wasting a fine performance from Kyle Kendrick. In his 3rd start this season, Kyle had good stuff last night, getting good late movement on his pitches. He scattered 7 hits and 2 walks over 5 innings, striking out 2 and receiving no decision when the Nationals won it, 4-3 in the 11th. Joe Savery allowed a run on a hit and a walk, retiring just 1 hitter, while Antonio Bastardo tossed a 1-2-3 frame, recording his 4th hold. Mike Schwimer gave up the winning run, after pitching scoreless ball in the 9th and 10th. Carlos Ruiz (.338) had 2 more hits, including his 5th home run, and Freddy Galvis came on late, going 0 for 2.
In Colorado, the Braves beat the Rockies, 9-8 in 11 innings, with Michael Bourn (.330) collecting a single, 2 doubles, a walk, 2 stolen bases (that makes 9) and scored a run for Atlanta.
