A.C., Homie, Taylor go deep

Not the best day Tuesday for HomeSiders in the International League.

In Pawtucket, the Red Sox shut down the IronPigs, 8-0, holding Lehigh Valley to a mere 4 singles. Tuffy Gosewisch and Cody Overbeck picked up a hit each, while Derrick Mitchell (0 for 3) and Domonic Brown (0 for 4) did not.

In Toledo, Quintin Berry did not fare any better, going 0 for 4 for the Mud Hens in their 3-1 win over Louisville, while Greg Golson was 0 for 4 with a run scored for Charlotte in the Knights 5-0 win in Durham.

In the Pacific Coast League, it was a little better. In Iowa City, Adrian Cardenas (.318) had a double and a home run, scored 2 and drove in 2 for the Cubs in a 6-5 loss to Albuquerque.......In Reno, Salt Lake edged the Aces, 2-1. The lone Reno run came on a home run by Randy Ruiz (.300).............In Tucson, Michael Taylor (.407) had 3 hits, including 2 doubles, and a walk, and drove in 3 runs (that's 11 RBI already) for Sacramento as the River Cats exploded for 22 hits in an 18-6 win over the Padres............In Las Vegas, Travis d'Arnaud had 2 hits including a double, but the 51s dropped a 10-5 decision to Fresno. Anthony Gose continues his struggles, going 0 for 5 and slipping to .143.
