David Buchanan made his AA debut Saturday, and threw 7 innings of 2-hit shut out ball for the R-Phils, walking just 1 and striking out 9, and Sebastian Valle had 3 hits to help Reading to 4-1 win over Portland. Leandro Castro had 2 hits, an RBI and scored 2 runs.
In Dunedin, D'Arby Myers, Edgar Duran and Miguel Alvarez all collected 3 hits as the Threshers beat the Blue Jays, 8-7 in 11 innings. Jim Murphy and Kyle Lafrenz each drove in a pair of runs for Clearwater.
Jesse Biddle started and went the first 4 innings, allowing 3 runs (just 1 earned) on 4 hits and 3 walks, striking out 5 in his Clearwater debut. Tyler Knigge (1.1 IP, 1 hit, 2 Ks), Lisalberto Bonilla (1 IP, 2 UNearned runs, 1 hit, 2 walks, 2 Ks) and Hector Neris (3 IP, NO hits, 4 walks, 1 K for the win) all worked out of the pen.
In Greenville, Maikel Franco and Drew Hillman had 2 hits each, but the BlueClaws dropped an 11-6 game to the Drive.
