winding down

The Phillies wrapped up the Florida portion of their preseason Sunday in a wild 7-7 tie with the Braves. Carlos Ruiz was 1 for 3, scoring a run and driving home another, and Freddy Galvis also scored one and drove one in, going 1 for 4. Joe Savery threw 2 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits and 2 walks, and Ryan Duke recorded the final out after walking 2 to load the bases! Michael Bourn had a walk in 4 plate appearances for the Braves, and Johan Flande pitched 1.2 innings, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits and 2 walks. Flande has posted a 0.73 ERA this spring and looks like he has made the team.

In Glendale, Mike Zagurski pitched the final 2 innings for Arizona, in the Diamondbacks 6-2 win over the Dodgers. "Z-Man" allowed 1 run on 2 hits, NO walks, and struck out 2, throwing 12 pitches-all of them strikes!.......In Scottsdale, Lou Marson had 2 hits, including a double, and Jason Donald was 1 for 5 and scored 2 runs for the Indians as Cleveland outlasted Colorado, 12-10.
