Golson breaks out

In Pittsburgh on Sunday, Vance Worley, Mike Stutes, Kyle Kendrick and Antonio Bastardo combined for 8 innings and allowed just 2 earned runs between them (and 2 UNearned), but the Pirates walked off again, 5-4. The Fightin' Phils come back to Philly today for the home opener, Cole Hamels has the assignment.

In Arlington, Gavin Floyd allowed 3 home runs and absorbed a loss in the White Sox' 5-0 defeat at the hands of the Rangers. Gavin went 5.2 innings, and allowed all 5 runs, 4 earned...........In Baltimore, Matt Maloney made his debut for Minnesota, throwing 1.2 innings and giving up 2 runs on 2 hits and a walk in the Twins' 3-1 loss to the Orioles, while in New York, Michael Bourn was 0 for 4 for Atlanta as the Braves lost to the Mets again, 7-5.

In Charlotte, Greg Golson belted 3 doubles and scored 2 runs for the Knights, but Norfolk won the game, 7-3.........In Rochester, Matt Rizzotti made his debut for the Red Wings, going 1 for 4 with an RBI, in Rochester's 5-3 loss to Buffalo........In Iowa City, Adrian Cardenas was 2 for 4, with 2 doubles in the Cubs 6-5 win over Round Rock............Michael Taylor had a hit, a walk, stole a base and scored 2 runs for Sacramento in their 10-3 win over the 51s in Las Vegas. Anthony Gose had a hit and a walk for the 51s, and was thrown out stealing............Over in Reno, Mike Zagurski threw a 1-2-3 inning for the Aces in their 5-2 loss to Colorado Springs.

In Corpus Christi, the Tulsa Drillers beat the Hooks, 9-7. Jonathan Villar took an 0 for 4, while Jonathan Singleton had a pinch hit single for the Hooks.........In Jacksonville, Jason Jaramillo was 1 for 4, an RBI double for Huntsville, but the Stars lost to the Suns, 6-5.

In Greenville, the BlueClaws lost to the Drive, 4-0. Gustavo Gonzalez and Aaron Altherr had 2 hit each for Lakewood (1-3) as they head to Greensboro for the next series.
