Lee to DL

Saturday night in San Diego, the Padres ended a 13-game winning streak by the Phillies in Petco Park, defeating Roy Halladay and the Phillies, 5-1. Halladay was strong for 7 frames and allowed just 2 runs. Mike Stutes came on in the 8th with the Phillies down, 2-0. After retiring the first 2 hitters, Stutes walked Cameron Maybin. Maybin stole second on the next pitch, and Stutes seemed to lose a little focus and was tagged for 3 hits and 3 runs. Freddy Galvis was 0 for 4 in the game, and Carlos Ruiz sat out for the second game in a row with a sore wrist.

Before the game, the Phillies placed Cliff Lee on the 15-DL, retroactive to April 19, and recalled Joe Savery. Kyle Kendrick will make Lee's scheduled next start on Monday.

In Chicago, the Cubs snapped their losing streak with a 6-1 win over the Reds. Alfredo Simon threw 2 innings for Cincinnati, and allowed an UNearned run on 4 hits, striking out 2.............In Phoenix, Michael Bourn had 2 hits and scored a run to help the Braves win their 5th straight, 3-2 over the Diamondbacks. It was the 4th straight multi-hit game for Bourn, who is 9 for his last 16 and hitting .306 now............In Oakland, the Indians beat the Athletics, 5-1. Jason Donald (.241) had 2 hits, stole a base, and scored 2 runs for the Tribe.
