Claws win opener!

The Lakewood BlueClaws opened their home season with a 6-run 1st inning en route to an 8-1 win over Hagerstown. Mike Nesseth got the win, throwing 5 good innings after a shaky first, in which he allowed 3 hits, but no runs. In all just 1 UNearned run on 5 hits and 2 walks, 3 Ks. Kenny Giles pitched the final 4 innings, giving up just 1 hit and 2 walks, while striking out 4, and picking up a save.

Kelly Dugan had 2 hits and 2 RBI, Guantlett Eldemire had a hit, 2 walks, a stolen base, and scored 3 times, and Logan Moore belted a 2-run homer to cap the 6-run rally. The BlueClaws stole 2 bases in the game, and are 20 for 20 in that department so far!
