Sergio Escalona will start the season on the 15-day DL, recovering from Tommy John surgery.
Minor league opening day today. Reading starts with a doubleheader, Jonathan Pettibone will start the opener and Tyler Cloyd goes in the second game. Jarred Cosart draws the opening assignment for Corpus Christi against NW Arkansas. Speaking of NW Arkansas, Edgar Garcia will begin this year on the DL for the Naturals, a Royals affiliate.
Returning to the Huntsville Stars, a Brewers affiliate, are Darrin Byrd and Jesus Sanchez, where Jason Jaramillo will start out catching.
Mike Zagurski has been outrighted to AAA-Reno, and will have Randy Ruiz for a teammate. I do not know why Zagurski did not have to pass through waivers.
Matt Rizzotti will start his AAA season in Rochester, and Yohan Flande will return to Gwinnett.
