rain shortened schedule

In Reading, the R-Phils lost a rain-shortened game to Akron, 7-4. Jonathan Pettibone started and went 5 innings for Reading, giving up 5 runs on 7 hits and 4 walks, absorbing the loss. Chris Kissock retired 5 hitters, but allowed 2 runs on 2 home runs in his stint. Steve Susdorf (.308) had the only 2-hit game for Reading.

Lehigh Valley, Clearwater and Lakewood were all rained out.


In Charlotte, the Knights beat Gwinnett, 3-1. Greg Golson (.305) was 1 for 3, stole a base, and scored a run for Charlotte..........In Iowa City, the Memphis Redbirds scored 9 runs in the 8th inning to come from behind and beat the Cubs, 12-7. RJ Swindel (1-0, 1.50) was the winning pitcher, throwing 2 shut out innings in relief for Memphis, striking out 3 of the 6 hitters he faced. Adrian Cardenas (.333) had a single, a double, a walk, and 2 RBI for Iowa.......In Reno, the Sacramento River Cats held the Aces to just 2 hits and took a 6-0 victory. Randy Ruiz (.321) had one of the hits for Reno, and Michael Taylor (.373) had a double and scored a run for the Cats...........In Las Vegas, the 51s scored a run in the 9th to tie the game and another in the 10th to take a 9-8 win from Colorado Springs. Anthony Gose had a single, a double, a walk, scored 2 runs and drove in another, and Travis d'Arnaud was 1 for 5 with 2 RBI for Vegas...........In Huntsville, the Jackson Generals beat the Stars, 11-8. Jason Jaramillo (.265) had 2 hits, scored a run and drove one in for Huntsville........In Corpus Christi, the Hooks beat Frisco, 11-3. Jonathan Villar had 3 hits, including a triple, and a walk, scored 2 runs and drove in 3, and Jonathan Singleton (.327) chipped in with 2 hits and a run scored for the Hooks.
