In Pawtucket, Domonic Brown was 2 for 4, including driving the only run of the game, as the IronPigs beat the Red Sox, 1-0. Derrick Mitchell (.313) and Cody Overbeck picked up a hit apiece and Jacob Diekman picked up a heart-stopping save, allowing 2 hits and striking out the side in the 9th.
In Reading Julio Rodriguez made his AA debut, throwing 5 innings against New Hampshire, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks, striking out 4 to pick up a victory. Darin Ruf and Jiwan James had 2 hits each for the R-Phils, and Mike Spidale drove in 2 runs, as Reading won, 5-2. Tyson Brummet and BJ Rosenberg combined for 5 shut out innings in relief. Kevin Howard was 0 for 5 for the Fisher Cats.
In Clearwater, the Threshers pounded Tampa, 9-6. Cameron Rupp and Jeremy Barnes drove in 4 runs each, Rupp belting a 3-run home run. Miguel Alverez' hot start continues, as he got 2 more hits to raise his early season average to .429. Garrett Claypool threw 2 scoreless frames, but Juan Sosa gave up 3 runs on 3 hits in the 9th.
In Greensboro, the BlueClaws lost for the 4th time in 5 games, 6-2 to the Grasshoppers. Brian Pointer had 3 hits, including a 2-run home run to account for the runs. Pointer is off to a .400 start.
