In San Francisco, the Giants evened their series with the Phillies Tuesday night, taking a 4-2 decision. Carlos Ruiz was 1 for 3 and drove in a a run with a sacrifice fly, and Freddy Galvis went 1 for 4, his average up to .229. Kyle Kendrick threw 2 scoreless innings ( 2 hits, 1 walk, 2 Ks) and Mike Stutes also tossed a shut out inning with 1 walk, and 1 K.

In Seattle, Jason Donald (.286) had 2 hits, drove in 2 runs and scored once to help the Indians defeat the Mariners, 9-8......In Atlanta, the Braves finally beat the Mets, 9-3. Michael Bourn (.217) had his 5th stolen base and scored a run for Atlanta..............In New York, the Yankees beat Minnesota, 8-3. Matt Maloney pitched 3.2 innings in relief for the Twins, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits...........In Washington, Gio Gonzalez threw 7 shut out innings for the Nationals, giving up just 2 hits and 2 walks, striking out 8 as the Nats shut out Houston, 1-0.
