The Lehigh Valley IronPigs dropped a pair of games in Louisville over the weekend. On Saturday, the Pigs held a 4-3 lead behind Kyle Kendrick heading into the bottom of the 8th inning. Kyle allowed just 3 runs on 7 hits and 1 walk, and left with a chance to win. But the swine flu that has infected the Lehigh bullpen got to Sergio Escalona, and he gave up a walk and a 2 run home run to Daniel Dorn, and the Bats stole a 5-4 win. Lou Marson had 2 hits, a walk and 2 RBI for the IronPigs.
On Sunday, Lehigh Valley was dominated by Cincinnati prospect Homer Bailey. Bailey tossed 6.2 shut out innings, and his bullpen cleaned up for him, as the Bats won 4-1. Lehigh's sole run came on a Jeremy Slayden home run (his 4th) in the 9th inning.
One more interesting note, the IronPigs will face former teammate Justin Lehr tonight. Lehr, who started the year with Lehigh Valley, was traded to Cincinnati a few weeks ago for a player to named later...........can we name Matt Maloney?
