Rain cancels Claws tonight; 2 matinees

The rain in Hagerstown has postponed tonight's game between the Suns and the BlueClaws. Boy, am I glad I didn't make the drive! It remains to be seen if there will be a doubleheader tomorrow.

In a day game in Sarasota, the Reds beat the Threshers, 3-1. Javis Diaz and Tim Kennelly had 2 hits each for Clearwater. Darren Byrd started and threw 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits and a walk, falling to 1-2 on the year. Carlos Monasterios picked up the last 2 innings, retiring all 6 hitters he faced.

In Durham, the IronPigs scored 4 in the 11th to take a 4-0 win and sweep their series with the Bulls. Kyle Kendrick threw the first 6 innings, and gave up just 4 hits and 2 walks, receiving no decision.
