The game between Reading and Harrisburg was suspended after 9 innings last night with score tied at 1-1. The rain would not allow them to finish it, so they will try to decide that game before today's contest. Hats off to Tyson Brummett, who threw 7 strong innings, allowing just 1 run on 6 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 6. Alex Concepcion threw the 8th and 9th, yielding just 1 hit, while picking up 3 Ks. The R-Phils managed just 4 hits, 2 by Neil Sellers. Quintin Berry did walk 3 times and steal his 20th base (in 26 attempts). The Phillies had the tying run at third base with 1 out in the ninth inning when manager Steve Roadcap tried the suicide squeeze play with Mike Taylor on third and Brad Harman at bat. Harman was called out for interfering with the catcher and the threat went by the wayside.
In Mobile, Brian Schlitter recorded his 10th save, and 2nd in 2 days, throwing a 1-2-3 9th inning in Tennessee's 5-3 win over Mobile. In Corpus Christi, Adrian Cardenas (.377) had 3 hits and Matt Spencer (.274) had 2 hits and an RBI in a 16-hit Midland attack, but the Rock Hounds lost to the Hooks, 5-4 in 10 innings.
