Phillies win finale with Sox

The Phillies salvaged a win in their series with Boston, coming from behind to top the Sox, 11-6 on Sunday. Ryan Howard (.257) had a single and double and drove in 2 runs (that makes 51 RBI for Ryno), and the Phillies survived after J.A. Happ got a little roughed up up. Jay gave up 5 runs on 7 hits and 6 walks in just 5.2 innings, but with the Phillies bats doing the job, kept the team in the game and actually had a 5-4 lead before Boston pitcher Josh Beckett homered off of him in the 6th to tie it.

The Fightin' Phils have a day off today before beginning a series with Toronto on Tuesday. Cole Hamels will start the opener.

In Phoenix, Michael Bourn had a single and a walk, scored 2 runs and drove in another, and stole 2 more bases to increase his league leading total to 22, helping the Astros to an 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

In Clearwater, Yohan Flande (6-1, 2.45) threw a complete game shut out against Jupiter as the Threshers won, 2-0. Flande gave up 6 hits and only 1 walk, while picking up 6 strike outs. Mike Durant had 2 hits, including his 8th home run of the year, and Cody Overbeck also had 2 hits, driving in Clearwater's other run.

In Reading, after dropping the suspended game from Saturday night, 2-1 in 11 innings, the R-Phils bounced back for a 6-5 walk-off win over Harrisburg. Jeremy Slayden was 4 for 4 and a walk, driving in 3 more runs to lead the Reading attack.

In Reno, Chris Roberson (.274) had 3 more hits, including a triple, scored twice, drove in 3 runs and stole his 10th base to help the Aces take a 14-6 decision from Salt Lake.

In New Orleans, Greg Golson had an RBI double, and threw out a runner at second base, but the Oklahoma City RedHawks lost to the Zephyrs, 4-2.
