Q the catalyst in Reading win

Quintin Berry had 3 hits, raising his average to .289, Michael Taylor belted his 10th home run (RBI # 39), and Kevin Mahar drove in 5 runs as the Reading Phillies rebounded from a tough loss Monday to top Akron, 12-5 Tuesday night. Tyson Brummett picked up his 3rd win, in relief of Alex Concepcion. Brummett pitched the final 4 innings, allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk, striking out 6. Kyle Drabek will make his AA debut tonight.

In St Lucie, Dominic Brown (.321) belted 2 home runs (#7 & 8) , driving in 3 runs, and Derrick Mitchell also homered as the Threshers defeated the Mets, 4-1. Darren Byrd made his first start of the year, going 4 good innings, allowing jst 1 run on 3 hits and 2 walks, Walter Tejeda gave up 2 walks and 2 hits, recording 4 outs, with 3 Ks, before yielding to Jack Mackintosh, who picked up the win.

The Phillies also announced they have optioned John Mayberry back to Lehigh Valley. They will have to open up another roster spot today for J. C. Romero, who has now served his 50-game suspension. Sergio Escalona could be the victim here.
