Maloney, Kendrick, & Homie

Matt Maloney was back in AAA this week, and threw 8 innings against Charlotte Tuesday night. Matt gave up 3 runs on 7 hits, NO walks, unfortunately taking the loss in a 3-2 Knights win over the Bats. Matt made 3 starts for the Reds during his first major league stint this month.

In Allentown Thursday night, Kyle Kendrick continues to show progress. Kyle threw 6 good innings for the IronPigs giving up 4 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks, and receiving no decision in Lehigh Valley's 5-4 victory over Indianapolis. Kyle is 4-4 with a 3.97 ERA in 15 starts this year. Lou Marson (.256) had a single, a double and a walk, driving in a run for Lehigh.

In Tacoma, Kevin Howard (.278) had a single and 2 doubles, driving in 2 runs, and Randy Ruiz (.330) added 2 hits, both doubles, a walk and scored 3 times as Las Vegas pounded Tacoma, 11-4. "Homie" is 16 for 30 (.533) over the last 7 games with 5 doubles, a triple, 4 homers and 9 RBI. Not a bad week, eh?!!!
