Andrew Carpenter improved to 4-0 Friday night in Indianapolis, shutting out the Indians on 4 hits over 7 innings, as the IronPigs won, 3-0. Carpenter walked 2 and struck out 6, to drop his ERA to 2.92 on the year. Lou Marson had 2 hits, including a double for Lehigh Valley.
In Oklahoma City, Greg Golson (.284) had 2 singles and a walk, scored a run and drove in 3 more as the RedHawks beat Memphis, 8-0.
In Tacoma, Chris Roberson had a singles and a triple, scored a run and drove in 3 more as part of a 23-hit attack by Reno, as the Aces smashed the Rainiers, 21-5. "Robey" is now hitting .268, with 28 RBI for the Arizona affiliate.
In Las Vegas, Randy "Homie" Ruiz belted 3 doubles in 4 at bats, raising his average to .304, and drove in 2 more runs (47), but the 51s lost to Portland, 9-8.
In Midland, Adrian Cardenas had 2 more hits, and a walk, and is now hitting .392 for the Rock Hounds. Midland trailed 10-3 in the 5th inning, battling back, but falling a run short as NW Arkansas won the game, 10-9.
