Floyd shines for Sox; Escalona back with Phils

The White Sox defeated the Indians Monday behind shut out pitching from Gavin Floyd. Gavin (6-5, 4.12) threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, walking 2 and striking out 5 as Chicago won, 6-3.

With Antonio Bastardo going on the DL with a shoulder problem, Sergio Escalona has been recalled again. Speculation is wild about who with make Bastardo's scheduled start on Thursday, but with the off day on Monday, J.A. Happ, fresh off his complete game shut out of the Blue Jays on Saturday, will be on schedule to go. The off day has given the entire rotation an extra day off, so they can all pitch on their regular rest, but when Bastartdo's next turn comes up next week, it could be any one of a number of guys. My guess is Carlos Carrasco. He has won 4 of his last 5 starts, is pitching as well as anybody under consideration, and is probably ready to make his debut.
