Phils pick 2 high schoolers

The Phillies used their first 2 picks in the draft to select 2 high school center fielders. Kelly Dugan, 6'3", and 205, a switch hitter out of Notre Dame High in California was the Phillies first selection. Dugan hit .379 with 8 home runs in 95 at bats this year.

The 2nd selection was Kyrell Hudson out of Evergreen High in Washington. Considered a very good overall athlete, Hudson is 6'2", 185 and hit .306 in just 20 games his senior year.

Maybe the trend toward younger players is continuing, Lakewood is fielding it's youngest team ever this year.
