Flande sharp in Threshers win;Brown disabled

Yohan Flande turned in another good performance in Clearwater last night, throwing 7 strong innings in the Thresher's 3-1 win over Palm Beach. Flande gave up just 1 run on 6 hits and a walk, striking out 6 and dropping his ERA to 2.78. Carlos Monasterios, working out the bullpen now, threw a scoreless frame and picked up his second win this week when the Threshers scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th on Tim Kennelly's hit.

The bad news is Dominic Brown has a broken bone in his hand where he was hit by a pitch the other day and will probably be out for a month. Brownie was having a great season so far, hitting .299 in 51 games, with 12 doubles, 3 triples, 9 home runs, 38 RBI, and 14 stolen bases. All our best to Dominic for a speedy recovery.
