Rizz' home run not enough

Matt Rizzotti hit a 2-run home run, his 5th of the year, but it was just 1 of 3 hits collected by the Threshers in their 3-2 loss to Fort Myers on Friday. Joel Naughton and Tim Kennelly had the other hits for Clearwater.

Julian Sampson was the hard luck loser for the Threshers, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits in 5.1 innings, to fall to 1-6, 4.71 for the season.

In Manchester, New Hampshire, Gus Milner had 2 hits and a walk, raising his average to .267, as the Reading Phillies beat the Fisher Cats, 3-2.

Vance Worley started for Reading, and struggled with his control, walking 7 in his 5 innings, and giving up 2 runs on 3 hits. Chance Chapman got the next 4 outs, and was in the right place at the right time to pick up his 3rd win since going to the R-Phils.
