Cool Cole flashes old form

Cole Hamels threw a complete game, 5-hit shut out against the Dodgers Thursday night, as the Phillies' west coast winning streak continued with a 5-0 victory. Cole improved to 4-2, 4.40 on the year with his 5 strike out, NO walk performance.

Carlos Ruiz had 2 more hits for the Phillies, bumping his average back to .303 as the Phillies won their 7th straight game.

In Pittsburgh, Jason Jaramillo and the Pirates completed a 3-game sweep of the Mets with an 11-6 win. "JJ' had 2 more hits and drove in a career high 4 runs. In the series, Jaramillo was 5 for 11, with 6 RBI to raise his average to .282. In Houston, Michael Bourn (.297) had a single, a double and scored a run, but the Astros dropped a 10-3 game to the Rockies. In Oklahoma City, Greg Golson (.276) had 2 hits and an RBI as the RedHawks beat Memphis, 6-0. Over is Vegas, Randy Ruiz keeps pounding, doubling in 2 more runs (45 RBI) as the 51s beat Portland, 8-6.

In Midland, Texas, Adrian Cardenas (.389) was 3 for 3, including a double, and stole his 3rd base, and Matt Spencer hit his second home run of the season as the Rock Hounds defeated NW Arkansas, 4-1
