I am short on time today so I will get as much in as quickly as I can:
Reading defeated Trenton 4-1 behind Joe Savery, who is now 7-1 on the year! Neil Sellers, Brian Staviski and Ozzie Chavez had 3 hits each for Reading, Gus Milner had 2 hits, and Quintin Berry had a hit and 2 walks, and stole base #19.
Clearwater came from being down 3-0 early to tie the game late and then lost it in the 9th, 4-3. Julian Sampson continues to struggle, giving up 3 runs in just 2 innings, Dan Brauer threw 2.2 scoreless frames, Manny Ayala 2.1 innings, no runs, and Chris Kissock was the hard luck loser, surrendering an unearned run in the 9th. Cody Overbeck was the only Thresher with more than 1 hit.
Lakewood lost a 3-1, 11-inning contest despite a stellar performance from Jason Knapp. Knapp threw 7 shut out innings, allowing just 4 hits, NO walks, and picked up 6 Ks. D'Arby Myers had the only 2-hit game for Lakewood and scored the BlueClaw's run, doubling in the 8th inning and scoring on Harold Garcia's triple. Ryan Bergh (3-3) took the loss, forced to throw more innings than is usually asked of him. Lakewood will try to right the ship tonight, sending Heitor Correa to the hill.
