Maloney debuts

Matt Maloney made his major league debut Saturday night in Cincinnati, throwing 6 good innings against the Cubs, Matt allowed just 2 runs on 6 hits and 1 walk, striking out 4, receiving no decision. The 2 runs came on home runs by Geovany Soto and Bobby Scales, the Reds winning, 4-3 in 11 innings.

In Chicago, Gavin Floyd became the 5th HomeSider to win a major league game this week, defeating the Indians 4-2. Gavin went 6.2 innings, gave up 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits and 1 walk, striking out 7, to improve to 4-5 on the year. In Houston, Jason Jaramillo had an RBI double and a walk to help the Pirates beat the Astros, 6-4.
