Hamels loses despite superior effort

The Orioles completed their sweep of the Phillies on Sunday, winning 2-1 over Cole Hamels. Cole was great, going 8 innings and allowing just 2 runs, scattering 9 hits, NO walks, and striking out 10. Cole is now 4-3, 4.24 on the year.

In Minnesota, Michael Bourn had 2 more hits, scored 2 more runs and stole his 24th base as the Astros beat the Twins, 4-1. Bourn is now hitting .300 and I would not be surprised if he is named to the National League's All Star team as a reserve.
