Kyle Kendrick threw 7 solid innings Monday night in Allentown, certainly good enough to win, but left the game trailing 2-1. Rochester scored 4 in the 9th en route to the 6-3 win. Kendrick allowed just 2 runs on 5 hits, NO walks, striking out 3 and lowering his ERA to 4.05.
The news was not so good in Reading where Mike Stutes, who was perfect through the first 3 innings, got tagged for 6 runs on 5 hits and 4 walks by the Aeros. Mike Zagurski gave up 2 runs on 4 hits, and after Francisco Butto threw up 2 zeros, Joe Bisenius blew up in the 13th, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits, as Akron topped Reading 13-10. Michael Taylor (.341) had another 3-hit game, driving in his 38th run, and Neil Sellers (6 for his last 9) made it back-to-back 3 -hit performances. Former major leaguer Paul Bako also collected 3 hits for the R-Phils. Quintin Berry's good roll continues, as he added 2 more hits, a walk, his 16th steal and took his average up to .280.
